Snowflakes and Soccer Balls

Our friend, Maurie, came over to watch a World Cup game with us and was so sweet to surprise the kids with a soccer cookie cake, but when he opened it to show them, John Caden said, "A snowflake!"

Sweet Hudson

He doesn't bring me my slippers, but he does like to find them and use them for a pillow.

Special Friends

So thankful we were able to spend the afternoon with the Mills during their short visit to the States.  Wish Thailand wasn't so far away!

"Church" Attendance is on the Rise

Wow...it appears that we've had many more newcomers join us since the last service.

Father's Day

No Father's Day picture in their Sunday best this year :(. These two soccer guys were too eager to get in front of the TV and watch the World Cup.  So cute though that they ended up being dressed alike--white undershirts and black soccer shorts.

"Church"

One of Anna and John Caden's most favorite things for us to do as a family is to have church services at home.  Usually they play their own instruments, but tonight John Caden decided to take a break from being the worship leader and be the tech/sound guy instead.

These services can get rather long, so today Tim and I found some other willing and eager attendees to take our place.

Moving Up in the (Gymnastics) World

It's kind of a big deal when you now have your own cubby hole with your name on it in the Girls' Team Room...

and it's kind of a big deal when you now get dropped off with your own gym bag and get to head into the gym by yourself for the Boys' Team three hour workouts.

They were right

I remember years ago when I found out that I was having a boy, I grimaced at the idea of having to buy guns, and swords and bows and arrows.  Someone told me, "Oh, you won't even have to buy them.  Boys will just make their own."  They were right.
I also remember asking Gramma one year if she had any ideas on what to get John Caden for his birthday since she had raised three boys and has several grandsons.  She mentioned anything with a ball is always a good choice because "boys love to just run around throwing a ball." Seemed odd at the time, but she was definitely right!  A day doesn't go by without John Caden for hours on end, running around the house tossing a ball against a wall, up in the air to himself or to any willing recipient in the family (including Hudson).
