Snow Day 2015

Such a fun time the kids have had the past two days--catching giant snowflakes,

Building a snowman...

Shoveling snow...

Playing in the woods...

Swinging in the snow...

Sledding and throwing surprise snowballs (watch John Caden at the end of this clip)...

Posing for pictures (well maybe not so much for the kids, but it was fun for me)...

and making this little snow friend to sit outside of Daddy's window to keep Daddy company while he worked.

Snow Anxious

The kids have been hoping for snow all winter. They've been eager to try out their new show shovels that they received from Granna and Poppa for Christmas. Hudson also loves a good snowy day--he watched the snow fall while he waited anxiously for us to get a little school work done before we went out to play.

The kids and I had fun searching for which of Hudson's little snow paw prints were the cutest--these two were our favorites.
But my favorite part of snow days is coming in for warm snuggles and hot chocolate!

Examining Snowflakes

I love it when God provides a hands-on science lesson for us--what a fun morning we had examining the intricate design of each snowflake and discussing God's incredible creativity.

Outsmarted By My Boy

While checking John Caden's schoolwork today, I questioned him why he checked both Yes and No boxes for number 5.
Me: "If we were walking down the aisle at Publix and saw Granna or Gramma, you wouldn't know who they were?"
John Caden: "Well I would know Gramma, but if we weren't actually at Granna's house and were walking through a store, I kind of get confused with that twin sister of Granna's sometimes and I might not be sure if it's Granna or Aunt Doris."

Hudson's Popcorn Obsession

Every time I pop popcorn on the stove (in coconut oil--yum!), Hudson comes running to the kitchen and sits and waits eagerly for the popping to stop and the eating to begin.

One day this week after the kids and I had our share, I left the remaining popcorn in a bowl on the counter. When Tim came home later that night, Hudson gave Tim a quick greeting at the door and then ran to the popcorn bowl hoping that Tim would follow him and give him a second helping. (And of course, he did).

Soccer Tryouts

So very proud of our soccer boy--he has been selected to play on an academy team in preparation for elite club level soccer!  (I personally think he should have been chosen just on account of his good looks--he makes for such a handsome soccer boy).
