Pausing School

Fall was in the air this morning--59 degrees! It was our first open window morning of the new school year. Hudson was mesmerized by the cool breeze coming in.

 

 

John Caden begged for us to "pause school" and go outside and play. His and Hudson's sweet puppy dog eyes were obviously too much for me to resist, so we "paused" school and went out and enjoyed the cool morning.

 

Special Sideline Fans

We enjoyed Gramma and Grampa's surprise visit today...after a long drive from Ft. Lauderdale they were great sports and jumped right into our evening routine of gymnastic and soccer practice.

Field of Dreams

Thanks to Tim's thoughtfulness and mowing skills, John Caden loved having a baseball diamond in our backyard this weekend.

Teaching Assistant

All teachers could use an extra set of hands.  This year I've decided to utilize the extra four that hang out in our schoolroom with us every day. That's right--no more lying around, snoozing all morning for this little fellow while I'm working my  tail off--

I'm putting his four little paws to work!

His paws are perfect for holding up vocabulary cards...

And when the kids bring things to school that they shouldn't (i.e. hats, balls, etc.), he can be the bad guy who has to confiscate them and hold them until school is over.

He makes a great study partner...

And he's a very good listener when stories need to be read aloud...

And when the wiggles set in and a child gets off task, he certainly can help me out by holding them in place until their work is done.

My Very Own Personal Barista

I homeschool our kids. He grinds and cold brews me coffee. It's a pretty good deal if you ask me.
