Whales, seals, sea turtles, sea snakes, fish, sharks, rays, crustaceans, mollusks, cephalopods, echinoderms, cindarians, and sponges...what a fun year studying ocean zoology it has been and what a great job the kids did in making a clay representation of each of these aquatic families as we studied Exploring Creation: Swimming Creatures of the Fifth Day.

Keeping Tabs
Evidently, there's a high propensity for boys to cause structural damage to your home. Tim and I have a little joke about the Excel Spreadsheet of "Items damaged/Debt owed" that we're keeping on John Caden--just in case when he has a good paying job one day he might want to reimburse us for the costs that he's incurred to us over the years. There was the "Great Flood" of 2010, the "Remodeling Project" of 2013, and many other dings, dents, and items damaged that we have noted. This will make the third electrical outlet cover that we'll be adding to the list. He's definitely 100% boy and I actually kind of like seeing the dings in the hardwoods and the scratches on the wall--they remind me daily how very blessed I am to have the opportunity to raise a son.

Snow Day 2015
Such a fun time the kids have had the past two days--catching giant snowflakes,
Building a snowman...
Shoveling snow...
Playing in the woods...
Swinging in the snow...
Sledding and throwing surprise snowballs (watch John Caden at the end of this clip)...
Posing for pictures (well maybe not so much for the kids, but it was fun for me)...
and making this little snow friend to sit outside of Daddy's window to keep Daddy company while he worked.

Snow Anxious
The kids have been hoping for snow all winter. They've been eager to try out their new show shovels that they received from Granna and Poppa for Christmas. Hudson also loves a good snowy day--he watched the snow fall while he waited anxiously for us to get a little school work done before we went out to play.
The kids and I had fun searching for which of Hudson's little snow paw prints were the cutest--these two were our favorites.
But my favorite part of snow days is coming in for warm snuggles and hot chocolate!
