Puppy Dog Sleepover

John Caden made Hudson a little bed (from his own sleeping bag) and tucked him in (with one of his own blankets) right beside his own bed tonight.  Such a sweet puppy dog to oblige by John Caden's wishes!

Two Quotes from Today

One from Rachel at finding joy:

"Start to see the gloves on the floor as evidence of kids who played outside. Start to see the laundry piles as blessings of an abundance of clothing. Start to see the good - develop a posture of looking and of finding joy. You can miss motherhood if you're looking for perfect."

And one from John Caden while we were out running errands:
Me: "Oops--we went down the wrong aisle.  Mommy's not thinking straight."
John Caden: "So your brain is crooked, Mommy??"

Laundry Basketball

John Caden sounded like he was having too much fun putting away his laundry today so I went in to see what he was up to and I found him standing on his bed, throwing his socks into his sock drawer.  Definitely much more fun than just placing them in there--if it works for him, it works for me!

Disney Post #6: Adventures with John Caden

John Caden was quite an amusing character himself at Disney--he was full of interesting actions and comments.  Sometimes he made us laugh; other times he made us cry.  In one moment of angst, I said under my breath to Tim (thinking that I was out of earshot of John Caden) that I didn't think we should have another family vacation until John Caden gets to an easier stage of life.  Without missing a beat, John Caden whispered back to Tim, "I don't want to go on another vacation with her anyway." We laughed and said at least the feelings were mutual.

One of his most precious moments was when he saw Anna for the first time as she walked out of the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique--he melted our hearts with his mesmerized stare and his sweet words, "Anna...you look pretty."

At the Royal Table, we sat forever with him as he was determined to place every little Mickey Mouse sprinkle in a strategic spot on his cupcake.  I don't think he's ever enjoyed a dessert so much as this one!

Besides the Thunder Mountain Roller coaster, his favorite "ride" were the escalators! Up and down and back up and back down he went.

I was amazed at how well he did with the fireworks--no hands over his ears! He smiled the entire time and kept saying, "I just can't believe how beautiful they are."

He, of course, was not very fond of all the picture taking and thus was not very cooperative in being photogenic.

At the start of the week he didn't want anything to do with the princesses, but after Belle called him her little "teacup" he quickly warmed up to them and decided he would like a few pictures with them.

He ended our week with having to be rescued by a lifeguard.  Right after this video clip stops, he dupes the lifeguard into thinking that he's stuck in the current and can't make it over to the side so she blows her whistle and jumps in to save him.  Oh, mercy!

When we returned home, he was reminiscing about Disney with Tim, and he told Tim, "Daddy, when I'm older, I'll take you to Disney...unless you're dead of course.  But I hope you're not."
